Events etc

Hey all, its rosy. It's 4.45 and im sitting at twist, just back from school. Laura was doing a class at madras which i think went well. I feel the need to point out that my contribution next to Sam's will look ridicously amature next to Sams for two reasons. One Sam has an understandable sense of humour and two he also has TOO MUCH SPARE TIME. I'm 4 exams down (english, mods, french and spanish), 1 to go (drama). It's all going well and its all over on the 1st of June, when i go into 6th year to study Advanced English, French and Drama and higher Spanish. Enough about me Nell has finished her 3rd year exams and did v well and is just now on her 3 dayactivities (hence laura's class at M.C, remember when i went to paris?) to Highland Adventures and Tess is mourning after the lack of time with her two older sisters. oh weeel she's growing up, Madras watch out, here comes Ted. I don't think a lot else is happening. It was lovely to see Ben and Di and the new "addition" a la famille, what a cutie :) I'm tres excited for the wedding now, shopping time. Oh Gran, I'm coming down to London on the 11th to the 15th with Keri so we need to meet up, yes? I'll email/blog/text/write with my flight times and my "intinarary" (mummy's orders...) as it would be lovely to see you.

I'm off to eat, spinning group is soooooon.

Wooden shell, toolbelt and Derriboots!

Here's an update from Nicky Tam's house in Pitmedden - or should I say, 'wooden cage' in Pitmedden. He's hauled all the walls down and now you can see through from one side of the building to the other.

Now, don't laugh, but he's got a tool belt. He's all proud, but shy when you talk about it. It's like his first bra. But he's been wearing bras for years now, so he'll get used to the belt soon.

I think I've got the style for it, though. It needs aplomb. Two plums, maybe.

Perhaps the most amazing thing though is his footwear. I seem to remember making him cry when I teased him over his 'clubby book' preference for so called Derriboots. Now check out these babies...the lamb's wool trim, the leather, the built up heels (remember Mr Mowbray?) they could be Gran's if they weren't size 10s (Hmmm, maybe Gran on Mum's side, then!).

(Aw, min... I want a tool belt!)

A Different Kind of Plastering

Now den

Is it my DIY activities or smutty sense of humour that's rubbed off on Claire, recently...
She was chairing a small editorial meeting recently (her second as the new senior producer - see below), and the team was running through production issues and problems.
After my ramblings about Grassroots, she turned to the producer of the gardening programme, The Beechgrv Pottng Shed, Frieda Morrisn, and asked about gap in her programme: "Did you manage to fill your hole?"
Of course, I spotted it first (I AM THE KING!!), then someone else got it, then Claire herself... and that's when I snatched up my mobile phone and took this snap.

And Frieda? She sat stoney faced. We can only speculate on the meaning of that. Isn't life wonderful!
PS. I think I've mentioned to most on the phone at some point or another that Claire has got a new job at the Beeb. She's now senior producer, in charge of speech radio in Aberdeen. It's a really good job, right up her street. And I can remember when Mum first met her about three years ago, she was saying things like, "You'll be able to get Claire to do that photocopying for you? etc" It's me who'll be doing the photocooying, now!

You Lazy Devils!

Hello you lot.
After an initial flourish of postings on Mum's Blog, the enthusiasm for making fun of one another seems to have died down. Is it cos we've nothing to say for ourselves? Is it cos everyone's sick of hearing about my bathroom? Or maybe we simply can't be f***in' bothered?
Well, I'm not gonna let any of that stop me from making a tw*t of myself online. Oh no!
Here's my news:
1. Bathroom has been installed and I'm now in the middle of tiling. What a relief to have a toilet in the house... cough...
2. I'm on two weeks leave at the moment - back to work on 4th June.
3. I've applied for a new job in the Beeb - as a producer for web content. I'll find out if I've got an interview over the coming days. The job's based in Aberdeen, so that's cooool.
4. I've started an Open University course in web design. I'll send you all the addresses of the websites I build and you can get a laugh. Burp!
One photo I thought was amusing: I seem to be the only person to find this headline funny (referring to Alex Salmond's win in the elections):

What a hullabaloo!

Until next time... Nanoo Nanoo.

The Lost Photographs

This is me being really picky... but I just HAD to 'correct' that photo of Sonya on the steps outside Fine Fare while her and Les were on holiday in Inchbare, recently.

Dontcha think she looks a bit like Dad when he was posing for that election back in the 19th century?!

Check it out!

Ha ha ha ha ha, whooo ho ho ho ho ho...ha ha ha ha............................ HA HA HA HA HA...
phew! I made a joke, there!! Did you see what I just did?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha.....

Anyway, instead of making fun of my favourite sister - now let's make fun of a family friend!
Imagine my surprise when I turn over this electioneering treasure? Quite appropriate two days after SNPs triumph in the Scottish elections!!!

That man was ahead of his time! In child care, if nothing else!
